turkey and toasts

Like I said in my previous post, Kate was here for a short time. It's always such a treat to have her or any of my siblings with me, for any length of time. We stayed up late. Played games. Made yummy food and treats. And laughed a lot when I got a sudden urge to do a handstand and failed over and over. We attempted to make those tasty drinks from Cocoa Bean and it was a magical success! Also, my lovely mom and dear brother Bry came and spend some time at my Grandma's. They were a happily-bad-influence on me and I went up to Grandma's two nights in a row and took a half-day off of work. It was wonderful! Oh...and I accidentally killed a fly with my bare hand. I meant to try to hit it, but it didn't fly away! So I squished it with my exposed hand. Ew.

Also, the week before Katabata was here, Cousin John and Sarah Stephenson came over for dinner. I had a turkey in the freezer and I thought it was about time for me to make a turkey for my first time ever. It was so much fun! We had a yummy dinner of turkey, potato rolls (thanks Bessie the mixer!), butternut squash, spinach salad with strawberries and pecans and for dessert a banana creme pie. We had a good time visiting---it had been way too long!

Our first picture of Kate's visit...

Cheers! Honestly. My new simple pleasure in life.

Ew.

The turkey. I've learned some things. Like...not only are the gravy packet and the giblets inside, but also...the NECK. that was a shocking discovery.
