No. Not really. I still have my job at the skilled nursing facility and I still love it. A lot. But if I could somehow create a way to earn money while not working 9-5, five days a week, I would choose the vocation of travel extraordinaire and enjoy my friends and families company. Always. And bake lots of fun things with them and after enjoying some of the wares, giving them away. Oh. And Read a lot of wonderfully consuming books. What started this train of thought? It's been flitting through my mind for a while, but it was confirmed when I had the opportunity to go to Maryland last month and visit my wonderful Aunt and Uncle and enjoy the sights of D.C. with my sisters.
Highlights: WONDERFUL food. My aunt is an exceptional cook and spoiled me and Kate with all sorts of yummy things like sheep milk feta cheese (which I just broke down and bought yesterday for my personal enjoyment) and Barney Butter (almond butter with a phenomenal name) and healthy smoothies (which I now have about 4 times a week with frozen spinach and tofu blended in). And then we can't ever forget the amazing breakfasts my uncle would make. Honestly I haven't had so many hot breakfasts that many days in a row. I am now craving it. Nearly always. So after an entire paragraph about food...I loved the museums. I loved seeing such amazing pieces of art. Mind boggling. The National Gallery of Art (and the tunnel underground that connects the two wings was amazing) I loved sitting in the sculpture garden with our feet in the water and reading. I loved the American History museum. A lot. I loved Degas. I loved our Saturday Day Trip to West Virginia and the beauty that we saw and just the feeling of love and awe that day. I loved being with my sisters (missed you Erica!) and enjoying each of them and laughing a lot, as we seem to do that best. I loved talking about literature with my aunt and having good discussions with her. She is so smart. I just can't say enough about the trip
and will spare you all the photo's...so here are some picture highlights:
