"here comes the sun"

Welcome to summer in Utah. It quit raining a few weeks ago and has very pleasantly turned to summer.

It. Is. Beautiful. I'm. Obsessed.

Michelle tidbit: I actually like to be happy with the weather, whatever the weather will bring. There isn't much I can do to change it. So when it snows, I try to enjoy it. When it rains, I like listening to it. However, between last night and today's outside activities, and going running, and riding my bike to work....I am obsessed with summer. It's the best! I love it.

Kate came to visit. We had such a wonderful time! I love her. I love my sisters. I love my family! I am most definitely happy as to my choice of living in Utah. I know this is where I need to be. But, ohhh boy, I certainly get lonesome for my family.

So, here we go, pictures. This was our journey while Kataroon visited...

rooftop concert on top of the parking garage. perfect. so fun.

at the concert.

this is a house across the street from me. we were driving with
othersto the concert and we saw this welcome home sign. kate and i laughed so
hard. reminds me of madagascar ii. but really, what a welcome home. haha

the field at grandma's on our saturday visit. t was SO green. and there
were so many dandelions and i loved them. so many. so cheery.

a country drive with grandma. aunt karen has the best car. and it
was such a treat to be out and about with dear grandma.

we tossed around a baseball. neither of us had done that for.....years. but
it was so fun. great memories of going to baseball games (pro and aaa) with
our family. classic diamondback baseball gloves. dad. everything.

hahahhahaha. during kate's stay, we did all of our driving with
the windows down. which really is preferable. so driving back to provo
from grandmas, kate looked at her hand and saw something dark red/brown.
i told her i thought it was just some chocolate from the cookies
we had. no. not chocolate. the evidence is there
on her forehead and in her bangs. poor little bug. he sure met his fate.
rip

we came back to provo to join some of my friends to hike the y.
kate had never done it before. i had vowed to never do it again but
gave that up to please a younger sister and to join friends in an
activity. but it's official, for the third time now. i love hiking.
but i will probably always and forever
detest hiking the y. but here we are, happy little pilgrims. we
turned the experience into a happy, pleasant, fun time by remembering
the march family and the pilgrims progress.

way to end a vacation. watermelon eating contest at family home evening.
totally going on my request list for our next family
reunion. reminds me of all of our other
random eating challenges we have come up with. needless to say, we
probably lost, but kate and i laughed so hard.

and the melon was very tasty.
