"greenerific"

This weekend marked the birth of "The Adjective Game." This game is enjoyed with two or more people. It's when you see something, most anything at all (mine tend to be things of beauty or awe), and you say, "Look at that! (point at it, if needs be) What's your adjective?" I just think there are so many great words in the world and different words or thoughts or feelings are evoked in different people. And I generally like to find out what other people are thinking. And it gets me to say something other than, "That's beautiful!" So while playing this game with MaRin on Saturday, we discussed the mountain and her adjective was "greenerific." I thought it was a good one! And better yet, it most definitely foreshadowed an event that was to take place on Sunday.

MaRin got guac-ed. Before MaRin and I got outside, the cows had come over to our fire-area to investigate Mash's actions. During the visit one of them left this happy little gift. Mash dared MaRin to step in it and wiggle her toes around and he would give her 5 bucks. Voila! Go MaRin! Mash and I were laughing SO incredibly hard. Yes. Greenerific.

But the weekend party started on Thursday. Dress-up day at work was 80's Workout. It was priceless. I drove to work wondering who decided this look was cool in the 80's and now common strangers stared me down while driving and especially while passing in the grocery store, as if they forgot that they too once crimped their hair and blew out their bangs so they were sky high. Thursday night MaRin and I joined Aunt Karen and watched "We Bought a Zoo" I really enjoyed it. The little girl, Rosie, could be my daughter one day. I want a girl names Rosie. And if she was that darling, I wouldn't complain.

Saturday, after long hours of outdoors-ness (service project digging holes, mowing my garden so it can be tilled, flower watering, rock hauling, a little bit of weed-pulling. all of it was delightful!) we settled in on a campfire for roasted hot dogs, and roasted marshmallows and smores. Delicious! I really just love this! Bless Kamas Valley. And all of my wonderful family that I get to spend my time with.

Sunday was church. Mash and MaRin both taught a lesson. Both did very well! After church we had a linger longer where I devoured some homemade  cafe rio. I really did eat enough to be VERY full. When I got home I knew I was going to go with Aunt Karen up to Aunt Irene's for dinner, but I figured I would just politely watch them all eat and maybe nibble on some veggies. I thought that until Aunt Karen asked me if I liked salmon and then I knew that I would be eating two tasty dinners. Back to back. In the evening Aunt Karen, MaRin and I went for a walk. This confounded cat that Aunt Karen has adopted walked with us the entire time. Meowing all the way. It was wild! What cat does that?! It was honestly like a dog. Weird. But the walk was splendid.

a robin sitting on the fence with grandmother's house in the background. so wonderful!

I told Aunt Karen tonight, while I was pulling my dinner out of the fridge, that I am just so happy to be living here. So true. And when I talked to Katie (the new MOM!!! yay!) I found myself (as I have on other occasions) just saying how wonderful it is that I live here and what a treat it is for me. I am so blessed and lucky! (Thanks especially to Aunt Karen!!)

And now the countdown begins. Three days until I get home. 7 days for Rach. 9 days for Julia. YAY!
