adventures of two byu grads living up the good ol days

What a treat friday night was. Eileen, Nikki and I planned on going to the Chinese new year celebration on campus. It was sold out and unfortunately Nikki hadn't snagged a ticket prior to the event, so we had to sadly wish her well for the evening and Eileen and I went in. It consisted of a buffet dinner and a program of performances. Apparently they didn't expect such a turn-out and so we waited in line for 1 1/2 hours as they had to order more food and we didn't get it until the third wave of food. While in line, Eileen thought she knew the boy that was two people in front of us and ended up becoming determined in talking to him. We schemed and sat down by him. Finally she started talking to him. No, no she did not know him. It was his first semester back from his mission. Undeclared major. He reacted considerably well when he found out that she was in law school and that I was graduated and on my sixth year of living in Provo. Needless to say, Eileen and I had a good laugh about it as we left and headed over to an intramural basketball game of boys in our ward. We stopped in on her second home (the law school and she introduced me to her cute carrel) and then made it to the RB. Boy did it take me back. I hadn't been to watch intramural games in a few years. It was so fun to cheer and to listen to Eileen say some of the funniest shout-outs! It reminded me of classic times in the past when she and Katie would yell things including, "I'll have your babies..." So after our game we just were hanging out and luck had it...a freshman team came in. Just picture it...warm-up music, dunks, strutting...it was awesome. However, their opponents forfeited. So they just had a little scrimmage game instead. Yeah...don't worry...our cheering continued and Eileen may or may not have found a crush. And I definitely made eye contact with one of them while he was on the sidelines. He did the head nod. I gave a peace sign. He then gave me the #1 finger and said something to the effect of, "you're number one in my heart, baby." Wow. I got called "baby" from a freshman. It was honestly so so funny. We ended the night with a classic chick flick and here's where I say...cheers to the good ol days and living in the moment.
