My poor family in Arizona has been fighting this nasty little bug for the past couple of weeks. Rach went home this past week and when she came back and fell ill we decided we would prolong our reunion to preserve my health. I was to be at Grandma A.'s this weekend and help out there. Oh, I was so looking forward to going and visiting and helping. So Thursday night I was just tired. So tired and ready to go to sleep. I was in bed by 9. And sick by 9:30. And I didn't even see Rach, once! So unfortunately I couldn't go and help Grandma. I felt so so so awful, and that I let her and everyone else down.
It truly was a bummer, being down and out for a couple of days. I feel so very lazy. However, this was the intent of the post, to express my joy in all of the wonderful literature I have been able to use to expand my mind.

It started with finishing the last 100 pages of:
Wonderful and amazing. Read it. Read it with your children. Love it.
Then I moved on to the book my friends and I are doing for book club. I feel like I have missed out on something beautiful and wonderful and glorious, up to this point in my life. I will have to read it multiple more times to make up for lost time.

Since I am waiting for book club discussion on the first 12 chapters, I had to stop reading the little beauty above and continue reading something else. So I decided to read the second half of

I had begun reading it when I lived in Salt Lake. I borrowed the book from Julia. At the end of it I was so utterly confused! Meg wasn't married. Beth was still alive...among other things I knew were supposed to happen, hadn't happened. I quickly called Erica and she read to me the last line of her book. It wasn't the same as mine. Then she read me the last line of part i of the book...a-ha! Bless Julia's dollar store copy...it was only the first half of the novel. For my birthday, from my parents, I got Louisa May Alcott's collection. So here I go on part ii. For the record, Louisa is one of my all time favorite authors. Her style is so easy for me to get sucked into. And on top of that, Little Women makes me cry and feel so many wonderful emotions for my dear sisters.
Mixed among all of the classics I have also been able to read timeless articles in the June Ensign (follow the link to one of my favorites...and I loved the First Presidency Message) as well as the Conference Ensign.
So there you go. If you need to find the time to read (and watch some world cup games)...just get sick for a few days and I will highly recommend to you some wonderful books.

So sorry to hear you have been sick. I love your choice of books..........I read Dandelion Wine with Suzanne a few years ago--first time--well, only time. But I LOVED it!! And I'll second you about L.M. Alcott. I love her too! Happy reading............
yeah, I kind of miss being sick...except for the throwing up part. But it was really nice to be able to just read allllll day.
