I have two wonderful sisters. Correction, I have four wonderful sisters, and while I'm at it, I have two awesome brothers. But this isn't about my family. This is about my two sisters that are Sisters. Wednesday was a big day for them. A day that will start a whole new journey. My parents were here with me as we took Julia and Rachel to the MTC for their 18-month service as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Miss Juli-u is going to the Maryland Baltimore mission and Rachie-Roo is going to serve in Virgina Richmond. They were set apart on Monday night, flew to Utah on Tuesday afternoon, with my dad. We had a big sleep-over or sorts and went to bed too late. I got off work for a couple of hours so I could help transport their bags. It was a really special experience and I hope to remember it. For a long time. It was surreal to just drop them off and let them off into the world. I know they will be highly looked over and I have no reason to worry, but I just am a worrier sometimes. And I'm not even their mother. I can't imagine being a mom and having your heart in so many places. Tangent. But I am so excited to write them letters! I love writing letters. It's such a lost art. And we still check our mail, and we still love to receive fun things in the mail, so how fun that I have the chance to write to them!
I know they will be spectacular missionaries. They have taught me so much and inspired me in so many ways. I have loved to see them learn and prepare and I have particularly loved going to the temple with them both since they have both been endowed.
After the short good-bye at the curb, they walked with the Elders up the sidewalk and into the MTC. They never looked back and looked so happy and comfortable and ready. It was a sight to see!
It was so fun to spend an extra hour with my parents afterward. I took them to grab some lunch since it was their 33rd wedding anniversary the next day. We had a good time and it was sad to say bye to them, but it was interesting to me to see the emotions of the past couple of days and to realize as I looked at my own life, the progress I have made and the choices I have made and how they have influenced me. And at the end of all of the events, it was all good and right and I felt very content.

I'm feeling for you, Michelle.........and your mom. hurts, but you wouldn't have them any other place........oh YIKES!!!! And the letter thing......you are absolutely right about that one. I buy all these pretty little cards, and then have to WORK at sharing them with people. Sounds like I've found someone, huh? Love you!!!
