nostalgia

If you haven't guess, or don't know, I am pretty nostalgic. Not like I try to live in the glory days still. But I'm the one that loves to get together with my friends and love basking in being together and usually look like the proud mother as we sit there together and talk. I try so hard to commit everything to memory so I can cherish it always. I document in photographs, as much as I can, so I can go back and enjoy seeing what I have done and people I have loved.

I was at my grandma's this Saturday, for a little visit, and made gingerbread. After righting a little mishap (I added three times as much sugar, so I had to double the entire recipe and it made so much gingerbread) we sat there together and ate gingerbread, hot out of the oven and homemade applesauce.

This was my grandma's recipe that my mom used to enjoy and I remember my mom making it when I was younger.

So of course what did I do? I made a recipe of my grandma's, at her house, and took a picture of her, sitting in her favorite chair, at her beautiful kitchen table, where hours and hours of talking and laughing and eating and visiting has taken place, in front of the window that looks up the lane. I was also sure to capture the totally classic wallpaper that I always stare at, at some point, and look at the pattern which, oddly enough, is mesmerizing.

I love my grandma's. As I have said, before.

Love.

I'm so glad you record these little memories and experiences because everytime you mention something about our little family, and especially our sweet grandma, I too get nostalgic and am glad someone else feels the same way! Love ya!
