"the summer is coming..."

I should really begin to keep a tally of how many times I say, "I am so happy!" or "This is my life?!!" because I have a feeling I will be saying it quite a few more times in the next four months.

On Friday night I made it official. Thanks to Mash and MaRin over the last few weeks and again on Friday, I brought the last load of my things up to Marion and am now going to make this my residence for the time being.

Saturday I got to help Uncle Lambert and work with Mash and MaRin and the cows and help bring them in for branding and vaccinations. There were a few that needed de-horning, which Uncle Lambert is a whiz at. As I recorded in my journal that night, "Thrilling! I wasn't much help, but I learned and hopefully I can do more again and be more helpful." Truly, it was a treat. Highlight--Mash wrestling the calves.

Church was great. It starts at 11 in the a.m. Wonderful. And afterward I got to visit with MaRin for an hour and a half. This is just splendid!

So here are some pictures and get ready because based on our summer "to-do" list, there will be some great things coming to come. Things have already begun, but one of the highlights for me is I am setting up my long waited for fire pit tomorrow! And I may or may not have already thought of the stock of Jet Puffed mallows I will invest in. Did you know they made them in caramel and vanilla and chocolate flavors? This could be a really good thing.

This was actually last week. I went bowling with the branch. Now, here's where you just have to trust me. I truly am the last "M" on the screen. And I did indeed get three strikes in a row (a "turkey") and a new personal best.
A summer "to-do" list item. Eat at the drugstore once a month. Frosted-mug root beer. Fresh cut homemade french fries in fry sauce. Really good burgers.
Our adventures on Saturday. This was after we did the calves and were working with the older cows. And that's Kevin the goat on the left that MaRin is hanging out with. You should see my Uncle Lambert with Kevin. Kevin basically acts like his dog. Kevin will eat almonds right from Uncle Lambert's hand and a baby carrot from his mouth. Classic.
