#LDSconf

Hello, hello! Happy Monday. Today has been fly-ing! That always makes me happy. Especially on a Monday. Especially on a Monday after conference weekend. For some reason, general conference weekend ALWAYS throws me off. I think it's the fact that Saturday seems like Sunday. Sunday seems like...not Sunday. So I wake up Monday morning expecting another weekend day that is just normal, but not the beginning of a new work week. And it's always slightly disappointing to realize that your weekend is over and it's now back to work...

Ah, well! It was a good weekend. Oh yeah!! It was a good weekend. I just remembered some other stuff that I can write/talk about.

Shawners left Thursday afternoon to go to Chicago! That was cool. He picked me up at work on my lunch break so I could take him to the airport. While I was driving back to work I was thinking how odd it was that even though on any other normal day I wouldn't have seen him until 6pm anyway, my mind and my heart just knew that I was going to be away from him (only for the night--haha) and my heart just hurt! It felt like I was just missing. Missing him and missing part of my heart. I think it's a beautiful thing, truly, to love so deeply and that being away makes my heart feel different. Well, he made it to Chicago just perfectly. A little delayed, but all in one piece! He found the hotel and at that point I was then very very grateful that we aren't living 15 years ago. I mean, we were alive 15 years ago, but I'm happy that we have the technology that we do now. We FaceTimed for the next two hours until it was time for us both to hit the hay. We chatted. He ate dinner while I read Stargirl to him. We got ready for bed. haha It was almost like he was here! I loved it! But his trip to Chicago was good. He was able to see some of campus, meet with future classmates and professors, meet current students, (hopefully) get us a connection for housing, see Lake Michigan, feel how cold it is even though it's spring, and find out that it's a three year program & not a two year program as we had thought! So. Pretty productive and insightful if you ask me! He came home late Friday night and I was very very happy to have him back. So was our dog, The Olive. While I made dinner Friday night she sat on the kitchen rug watching the back door, waiting for him to come home. That was sweet.

Saturday was General Conference. We ate some scones for breakfast. Delicious! And then Saturday afternoon I went to Shawn's parents house to watch/listen while the lady-folk worked on the darling blanket my mother-in-law is making for us. It. Is. So. Cute. Seriously! I absolutely love it. Saturday night, Shawn had an art show that he helped with and also had a piece in. So we did a little bit of that and laundry and voila! The day was over. Oh, except later that night, after Shawn got home, he asked that we keep reading Stargirl. We finished it that night. I forget how sad it is at times. But I also forget how much I just absolutely love Stargirl and want to be sure to be more like her and keep my Happy Wagon full. Oh man. Love that book. Love it.

Sunday, we went to Grandma Andrus' and watched general conference with Aunt Karen. Julia & Lee & Rach all came up as well. Admittedly, Aunt Karen had to tell us a few times to zip it and once continued to say that she didn't invite little kids that would prevent her from hearing conference but instead she apparently invited big kids that would! Whoops! It was just so fun to be together though. Oh my heavens. I love my family so much. We laughed and laughed and talked. It was just a treat to be together. As I am realizing that my time with them is coming closer to an end it makes me want to just spend every possible second that I can with them. Oh. And a shout-out to Rachie for making me laugh so hard with the hashtag that became my post title for this go-around.

In other news. Things are going well for us! It's all pretty normal. I'm happy. We're happy. We just live our little life and things are going well. Also, we're down to just the last 7 weeks of pregnancy. I can hardly believe it's coming to an end that will start the beginning! He's getting a lot bigger. Lately he's been Mr. Muscle. Honestly. Those movements in there are getting so strong! It's so exciting! I've been getting more & more Braxton Hicks contractions and it makes me really excited. It's absolutely incredible to me that my body knows what to do! When I feel the contractions it honest to goodness makes me smile because I just know that it's my body doing what it's supposed to and that it truly is a miracle. A miracle that is extremely exciting and very humbling.

Alrighty. Novel time is over. Picture time!

That photo of me sleeping in your armpit is hilarious! It looks like my hand has painted pink fingernails—but that's your hand. And, who sleeps in someone's armpit?

riiiiiiiiight??!!?! It makes me laugh too! But I couldn't move my arm because some was “listening” to conference.

So fun! We also love stargirl. I remember reading it to Dan shortly after we were married on a road trip to Az! Now I need to read it again. If you want another sad but awesome one you need to read wonder. it's amazing!!! I still can't believe you are moving. I'm excited for you but sad too. We need at least one more group get together!

I agree Nicole! We definitely need at least one more. I say a BBQ. It'll just be tricky. May might be the best, before I have a baby. June will be Eileen's wedding. July is tricky with the holiday's and right before Jenny has her baby too. But also between all of those we'll hopefully be seeing each other a lot too! But we need just one more of us!

Also--thanks for the book recommendation! I'll make note of that! We'll need some good reading/listening for our drive.

Yes, Lisa, it's by Spinelli. You won't regret it. It's a wonderful book!
