I have some fun little visions forming for our little plot that we like to call our backyard. So far, it hasn't amounted to much (that's because I also started a budget...) except a few flower pots of flowers and flower and vegetable seeds in some other pots. First---Thanks a million to Dr. Shiozawa! He gave me a car-full of planters and earth and seeds and a lot of advice and encouragement. It was such a blessing and saved me a bunch of money in my provident living fund...haha. But it was truly such a help!
So last Friday night and Saturday for about 5 hours, I spent in my backyard working on sorting through the dirt, getting it ready, mixing it with new soil and just cleaning up some of the weeds growing by our fence. Honestly, it was heaven. I love being outside, working. Thanks mom!
I have zucchini, beets, radishes, lettuce, carrots, tomato and peas. Hopefully they will grow. I also planted sweet peas and am keeping every finger crossed that they will grow and I can have a little piece of heaven on earth at the end of the summer.
Today, I went out to water and what did I see?? sprouts! I found one sprout of a radish and one sprout of a flower that I planted (a bunch of different seeds in a planter). Oh how excited I am!

More pictures of the progress of my backyard will come as the months progress and I find awesome deals at D.I. of things to add! Oh---and here's our front door with one of the flower pots I planted---pansies, marigold and dianthus...some of the other pots have ranunculus and snap dragons. love it. Thanks to grandma andrus' flower gardens for the wonderful memories of snap dragons and creating such a spot in my heart for them.
