reminiscent of junior high

So. Nearly everyday at my lovely Junior High School, Hendrix, I would have the best and most unhealthy lunches. They always consisted of a bagel and cream cheese and then either a huge chocolate chip cookies OR an ice cream sundae with chocolate syrup and chopped nuts OR Hostess coffee cake. (I talked to Erica about this and we concluded that it's a good thing we went to school when we did because the lunches we used to have would not be allowed nowadays.)

Today I have a visiting teaching appointment around the dinner hour and we had joked about brining some snacks. However, snacks in my opinion, are no joking matter. So today I decided to meet my new goal of making a never-tried-before treat once a month. This month. Coffee Cake. It was so fun! Thanks to the encouragement from Erica and her pointing me in the right direction of getting around my lack of brown sugar, it turned out to be a success! I hope it makes it longer than....today. If not, I'm sure I'll be making it again soon.

ps---something funny. After I found the recipe I was going to use, I continued to glance at other recipes a few pages further. One of them I read: Midget Date Lovers. Seriously?! haha I looked again: Midget Date Loaves.

Your lunches remind me of my highschool days when I would get a $1 for lunch and spend it on two candy bars in the vending machine. Oh, and btw you may want to change your spelling of bagel from beagle -- the way you have it makes it sound like you had a small dog for lunch everyday. Yum.

Haha! a small dog...gross. Those are my favorite dogs so maybe it was all subconscious. Erica would get a cherry coke and a candy bar for lunch every day--go us!
