"thinking of winter..."

Yesterday I was able to chat with one of my dear cousins and between that, and my run, I realized that I am going to take time to enjoy the little things more and not get so caught up in the mundane. After my run I realized that the adorable little crocus flowers had started blooming in the front yard. I was honestly overcome with excitement! (I love. love. love. flowers. It's a life-long goal of mine to one day work very closely with flowers. In fact I just got this amazing book at the library. I am going to buy it.) Spring is on it's way!! Or so I thought...I made a mental note to go take a picture of them. They were adorable!

Later, I was reading in the recliner and could hear the rain begin to fall. I have this weakness for the sound of rain. I got this idea to take part in my first "in-the-moment-appreciation" experience and go sit on the front porch and listen to the rain and breath in that fresh, cool, wet air. Soon, I couldn't hear it and I was kind of sad I missed the opportunity. When I got up to grab something from my room I peek outside...SNOW.

Beaucoup snow. So although I was significantly less excited about the snow, I figured I would give it a chance and give it a moment of appreciation. So I grabbed my blanket and flip-flops (naturally...) and went and sat on the porch for 15 minutes, listening to the snow hit the plants around me. It was actually wonderful! Then I noticed my beautiful, little, white crocus plants...so here's to the temptation of spring being right around the corner, just to have snow keep those thoughts covered for a few more weeks.

What a great attitude! I love that you sat on the porch and listened to the snow! Enjoy this time that you have to notice and appreciate these little graces.

Michellie! Please do post a 25 Things About You! It's kindof fun and it makes you realize certain things about yourself. It would be great to read too!
